Imagine you run a little pizza shop in Bengaluru. On a regular weekend, you handle ~20 customers with one oven and two staff members. One day, a local Instagram food vlogger posted a video about your pizza and it blew up. Suddenly 200 people showed up. This is exactly the challenge software systems face, and it's called "Scalability".

So we're starting this System Design Academy thing. I think, the best way to kick things off is by sharing something that happened to me a couple of years back.
